Mom was most proud of this intricate, 30-inch diameter doily she crocheted back in 2011.

In 2014, mom had surgery on her right hand, limiting its use.
Later that year, mom decided to have her prized doily framed.
It took three months and cost almost $700, but the result was first-class.
The only wall space in mom’s condo was on the stairway, so that’s where we hung it.

In 2017, we moved the piece down to the living room wall,
where it has been the backdrop for many family photos ever since.
